It incorporates Baithki Holi, Khari Holi and Mahila Holi. In Baithki Holi (which literally means ‘sitting holi’), ‘holiyars’ i.e. Holi singers gather in temples to sing classical songs that portray the legend of Lord Krishna. As per latest update of The Pioneer The Haridwar administration and the police, currently engaged in manning the ongoing Ardh Kumbh, seem to have set their eyes a bit far, as despite two snans scheduled before the fifth holy bath on Shivaratri, including the one slated on Friday on the occasion of Basant Panchami, they are now gearing up for the snan to be held on the occasion of Shivaratri on March 7. According to Zee news Haridwar: The Ardh Kumbh Mela began at Har ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar on Tuesday. At least 1 million devotees are expected to take bath in the holy river this year. The Ardh Kumbh Mela was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who also offered prayer at the ghat.
