Grade 5 explored cuneiform by recreating an ancient Mesopotamian writing system in clay. They shaped soft clay into small tablets and used pointed tools to press wedge-shaped marks, following how the ancient Sumerians recorded information. It gave students a chance to experience how people recorded information thousands of years ago.
Instead of just reading about ancient writing, they tried their hand at it. They worked with the same material and process that made it possible.

This week, Grade VIII students took part in a Just A Minute (JAM) classroom activity designed to encourage self-expression. It was uplifting to see each student step forward, overcome hesitation, and share their thoughts on fun, relatable topics. In a supportive classroom setting, the activity gave them space to find their voice, strengthen everyday communication, and build confidence.

Grade 6 children explored the Roman era through a crown-making activity. From cutting and designing to adding their own creative touches, each child created their own Roman crown and proudly wore and shared it with their friends.
Activities like these bring together historical learning and creativity. So children can engage with history in a more personal and imaginative way, not just memorising or reading about a civilisation, but interpreting and giving it their own expression.
It was a fun and creative activity that brought the Roman era to life in our classroom!

Why does nature have a place in the Waldorf curriculum? 🌿

In Waldorf education, students are encouraged to experience and observe nature closely. It includes practical experiences connected to plants, animals and agriculture.
For our Kindergarten children, the farm visit offered a chance to step outside the classroom and connect with the living world around them.

Grade 8 students explored weather and climate, climatology, and ways to protect nature through their PPT presentations, reflecting their growing awareness of environmental responsibility.🌿
The presentations gave students an opportunity to share their understanding of important environmental issues while developing confidence in research, organisation and expression.
Activities like these encourage students to think independently, communicate their ideas effectively, and use tools meaningfully in their learning.

Our Grade I children enjoyed a fun story-sequencing activity based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 🐛🌿

As they arranged the days of the week in the correct sequence and recalled what the hungry caterpillar ate each day, the children explored numbers, order and sequence through a familiar story.

The activity also encouraged them to observe, remember, count, retell and express the story in their own way. By bringing the story into their hands, the children could experience the concepts rather than simply learn them.

A simple story became an engaging way to strengthen multiple skills while making learning joyful and meaningful.

Who is Mr Gator?🐊
He's a playful way introduce the concept of greater than and less than.
Instead of beginning with mathematical symbols, children first experience the idea through characters and play. Mr Gator always opens his mouth towards the bigger number, helping children understand comparison before they memorise the symbols.
Once the idea becomes familiar, introducing the symbols (< and >) feels much more natural.

Every blackboard illustration does more than explain a concept.

Created as the lesson unfolds, each drawing gives students time to observe, ask questions, and connect ideas step by step. It encourages careful observation, sparks curiosity, and helps transform concepts into meaningful understanding.
