Located on Indore-Mumbai highway, near Mhow, it’s a beautiful scenic getaway for nature and adventure lovers. The chilly winds, dense forests and the mesmerizing view from the top, makes the smooth drive uphill all the more worthwhile.
Janapav Kuti offers something for every kind of traveler. For adventure seekers, the huge mountain and its surrounding dense forests present an excellent opportunity to explore and trek on its meandering ways. The place is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Parashuram and has a temple with old architecture dedicated to him on the top of the hill. The temple houses a kund, where one can take a dip and get refreshed for the journey back home. And if you are an avid nature enthusiast or a student of botany, you can find a plethora of medicinal herbs, known to have both therapeutic and recreational properties. Ayurvedic doctors from across the country often visit the hill looking for herbs.
With its extravagant biodiversity including an abundance of trees and other plants, the fresh and cool air here is a bonus. It is best to plan a trip in the morning hours which is the opportune time for bird watching when you can also enjoy the music of birds chirping greetings to each there. It is advised to carry your own food, bottled water, and other beverages, owing to limited eating options here. The place is a great spot for capturing hues of colours of nature and a great view of the woods, village and the nearby areas. So, remember to carry your camera along. You can also carry a pair of comfortable walking shoes, proper gears for trekking and a change of clothes.
So this weekend, see you there!
