With the rapid developments in communication Mariyang is awakening itself as a major destination for tourists.
Surrounded by the beautiful destinations such as Tawang, Mechuka and Anini, Mariyang is often ignored for the other popular destination in Arunachal Pradesh. However, this hidden beauty is a land of abundant natural and cultural resources. It is situated at a hillock overlooking the confluence of the river Yamne. Apart from scenic beauty, Mariyang in future will allure numbers of tourist and will become a great destination for all forms of tourism activities such as trekking, cultural tour, birding, angling etc.
Known as the origin land of almost half of the Adi tribe, a lot of travellers will be keen to experience or study the age-old customs. The place is already significant in Adi’s history of migration and settlements.
The place is an ultimate abode for the botanists, zoologist, ecofreak, birder and anglers due to it’s large area covered under lush green forest and fresh mountain rivers.
Mariyang is the nearest station among all the destinations of Arunachal from the state of Assam to offer trekking to snowcapped peaks of Eko Dumbing and Disang which is famous for numbers of lakes and unique wildlife.
Couple of years back Mariyang lived under the shades of all developments. It was the most under developed and neglected town among the towns of Arunachal Pradesh yet Mariyang have produced numbers of officers and state’s great personalities.
Over the years Mariyang is seeing rapid changes and witnessing various developments in varied fields. Mariyang is now well connected by all means of communication.
As per my consideration Mariyang has a bright scope in near days to come. Especially in tourism for it’s potential to offer diverse forms of tourism. A little promotion and development can build Mariyang the nearest hills station of Arunachal Pradesh.
