ABOUT THE AMARANTH YATRA
START AT JUNE LAST
The journey of Amaranth is of 50 km from Pahalgam, out of which 35 km from Chandanwari has to be covered on foot, is believed to be the holiest of Hindu shrines. Amaranth Yatra is an annual pilgrimage to Pahalgam Region of Anantnag District in Jammu Kashmir . Yatra also covered from base camp of Baltal 100 km from Srinagar. The journey from Baltal to shrine has to be covered on foot the distance is 14km.

CLIMATE
The climatic conditions are very uncertain . Rain or snowfall may take place at any time or place during the Yatra .
THINGS TO CARRY FOR THE YATRA
You should be mentally and physically fit to go for the trip as the journey includes trekking at a height of 1, 6000 ft. You should get yourself medically tested before the journey and forward that certificate to the registering authority designated for your area of residence.
You should carry lots of heavy woolens like jackets, sweaters, woolen thermal body warmers, trousers, monkey caps, mufflers, blankets and any other warm items. Among other items you should carry sleeping bags, blankets, windcheaters, raincoats, waterproof shoes with sufficient grips, tents, torch with sufficient batteries and supporting sticks.
TRAVEL ADVISE FOR PILIGRIMS : All pilgrims are requires to get a mandatory health check done by doctors before registering for pilgrim to avoid health related complication during the holly yatra.
Every pilgrim must register for the yatra registration forms are available in Jammu Kashmir bank, hdfc bank, pnb bank, sbi bank, yes bank in all branches in across the country from 12 March 2014 to start.
