If you are having a day-off and want a 6-7 hours day trip to place away from Jammu city then Mansar Lake kind of tops the option list......
On top to it you can have added advanteage of planning a Jammu-Majalta-Surinsar-Mansar-Bari Brahmna-Jammu round trip comprising of two lakes and lot of majestic hill view points.

One thing you will surely say after the trip... "A day well spent".

Besides being a popular excursion destination in Jammu, it is also a holy site, sharing the legend and sanctity of Lake Mansarovar. There is a wild life Sanctuary housing jungle life like Spotted Deer, Neelgai etc. besides other water birds such as Cranes, Ducks etc.
