KARNI KOT , SODAWAS : A Colonial Manor near Pali, Marwar

SODAWAS was given in Jagir (Fiefdom) to Late Thakur Bishan Singhji by His Late Highness Maharaja Shri Umaid Singhji of Jodhpur in the Year 1943 along with two other villages, before which it was a ‘Khalsa’ Jagir, meaning for Three Decades it was under the direct rule of Marwar State (Jodhpur). On arrival you enter through a grand gateway into the Karni Kot, which is still lived in by the family of Late Thakur Bishan Singhji.

Bishan Vilas, Mount Abu

Maharaj Fateh Singh Raoti (Jodhpur) built a summer house at Mt. Abu in 1927 for his family. Later, in 1959, Late Col. Th. Bishan Singh Sodawas, the erstwhile Jagirdar of Sodawas (Marwar) purchased it but retained only part of it and named it ‘Bishan Vilas’.
