Dzukou Valley is known as one of the most charming valleys of Nagaland and North-East-India, undoubtedly the best for the purpose of trekking. Dzukou Valley (2140MLS) and Japfu Peak (3014 MLS) Trek takes you to a wonderful trekking spot which is easy to moderate in level.
Japfu peak is the second Highest Peak in Nagaland. One can be amazed to see the tallest Rhododendron tree in the world (109Ft) at the Japfu Range, if planned earlier.
The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:
Day 1: 20th January 2015
Receive at Dimapur railway station/airport.
Road-Transfer to Kohima.
Overnight in Hotel/ homestay, Prepare for the trek
Morning pick up from Hotel/Homestay.
Drive to base camp.
Trek to Dzukou Valley.
Overnight halt at Dzukou Valley on Tented accommodation.
Meal Plan: Packed lunch, Dinner
Day 2: 21st January
Morning exploration of the Valley
Early Brunch at the Valley
Trek to Zakhama Village and then drive to the base camp for Japfu Peak
Overnight Halt at base camp of Japfu peak.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3: 22rd January
Early morning Breakfast
Trek to Japfu Peak and back
Lunch at the Base camp
Depart for Kohima.
Overnight at Hotel/homestay
Meal Plan: breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day4: 23th January, 2015
After Breakfast transfer to Dimapur Railway station/airport
