4 countries Europe Trip – Paris Disneyland
#****** From Edinburgh to Enchantment: A Tale of Two Cities ********

It was travel day, and excitement buzzed in the air. For the first time, we were flying Ryanair — the famed low-cost European airline — from Edinburgh to Paris. Our destination: BVA airport, a modest hub about 50 kilometers from the heart of Paris. With Ryanair’s strict baggage rules, we packed smart and need to buy cabin luggage space.
The journey began with a cab ride from our hotel to EDI airport, a smooth 35–40 minute drive. At the airport, the budget airline experience kicked in: everything was self-service. But since our travel involved a visa, we had to collect boarding passes from the check-in counter. Even the baggage drop conveyor belt was located away from the counter and you have to drop your baggage there — that’s how Ryanair works.
Then came the twist: our flight was delayed by over two hours. Despite the wait, the onboard experience was comfortable, however no seat pockets to stow away belongings. Upon landing at BVA, we have an unique experience as we have to walk from aircraft to the terminal building. Even, the boarding passengers were queued up on the curb side of the runway. Immigration was a breeze, done in just 15 minutes. That was surely an upgrade from chaos of CDG.
Due to the delay, we missed our scheduled shuttle to Paris. But luck was on our side — we could get the first available bus and reached the city in about an hour and fifteen minutes. A quick cab ride later, we arrived at our hotel. The Eiffel Tower visit planned for that evening had to be postponed, but Paris awaited us with open arms.

#****** A Day at Disneyland: Magic, Rain, and Show *******
The next morning, we set off for Disneyland Paris. The journey involved a metro ride followed by the RER train, leading us to a station just five minutes from the park gates. Clear signage made navigation easy. A quick tip for future travellers: group tickets (like 2 adults + 2 kids) are cheaper than individual ones — even if you're just 2+1, buying for 2+2 can save money. Also, weekends are pricier than weekdays.
One caution: tripods are not allowed inside Disneyland. If you bring one, it’ll be confiscated unless stored in a locker for €5. Inside, the park was pure fairytale. We caught the Parade and explored via the rail route. Though some attractions were under renovation, the day was still magical.
Rain joined us post-lunch, soaking us as we queued for rides. The light show — a dazzling spectacle — starts at 10 PM, which felt a bit late since most rides close by then. A suggestion: 8 PM would be perfect. For the travellers : Paris metro now uses reloadable passes — paper tickets are a thing of the past.
The return train was packed to the brim, but the energy was still high. We reached our hotel by 1 AM, and the metro was still buzzing with life. Paris never sleeps — and neither did we.

4 countries Europe Trip – Scotland Part
**** Scottish Tour ****
Today’s part is about Scotland, the country with divine landscape. We stayed for 2 days in Scotland. We reached Edinburgh bus stop from London. Took cab to our guest house, since we went early we kept our luggage and went for some breakfast. Actually, the accommodation was not far from the main area called Royal Mile. We walked to Royal mile and then to Waverly train station. First time saw a bagpiper being played, it was an amazing atmosphere. We came back to our guest house which was quite nice with big room and even had a bath tub. Took some rest and in afternoon went out to see the Edinburgh castle. It is a fortress with different areas to get nice city views. From there, back to Royal mile. We had lunch in PizzaHut that got some nice deals. Then we went to Cadenhead shop to get some local scotch variety. We went to a colourful area called Victoria street, and then to some park. We headed back to our guest house early as next day we are visiting highlands with Scottish Tour (which starts at 8 am sharp).
Day 2 – We started on time for the Highland’s tour. An exciting day it will be, it will be 12 hr+ trip as we are doing it in a single day. We had an amazing tour experience on the highlands tour. Once we get out of the city it was all mesmerizing and breathtaking views all around, fall colours in full glamour which was really soothing to eyes. At the first stop we go to see the Coos, we grabbed our breakfast there and also the tickets to Loch ness and Urquhart castle (Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai song shot here). We drove along the mountains and glen, yes Glen means valley which is synonymous with many famous scotch names. We passed through Inverness and then we reach the famous Loch Ness, the bus drove along the loch. We got into boat to try our luck to find Nessie, however we could only find the Highlander Hot Chocolate (hot chocolate with whiskey) on-board. We got down at Urquhart castle, was worth of visit. We took some stunning pics and some reels. While returning back got to know the chilling story of Glencoe massacre. Final stop was at wine store. We ended the day trying some Haggis (a local delicacy). It was a great end to the tour. Next day going to be more exiting as we were flying to Paris in Ryanair. Yes, heard a lot about this but will get a chance to fly tomorrow.

4 countries Europe Trip – England Part Day 3 & 4

**** Lord’s, Sherlock, Madame Tussauds, Durga Pujo and Windsor Castle **********

3rd day in London, we were eagerly looking forward to this day as we have planned to visit Lords Cricket ground, Mecca of cricket. Today, we don’t have the facility of the BigBus like the 1st 2 days. However, London has very cost-effective ways of traveling around the city, one is tube (metro) and other is bus. Regular Bus fare is GBP 1.75, you can do multiple transfer within one hour. You can use any international credit or debit or Forex card to swipe and pay on the bus. On top of it, there is a cap of GBP 5.25 for full day bus ride. You can avail buses as many times you want for a 24 Hr period and max fare will be charged 5.25, which I felt was very convenient and justified. Just make sure to use the same card for every ride. We started from our hotel, had a full English breakfast today and then hop on the bus. We have to get down at Baker Street; near Madame Tussauds Museum. There is something interesting I want to share, so we had got the London Eye ticket 2 days back and that time there was some offer going on to make it combo with Madame Tussauds/Shrek/other adventures. But we did not intend to go there and skipped it. Now 2 days later we have a thought of visiting Madame Tussauds, in-spite of we being late we tried our luck to get the combo offer at Madame Tussauds. And pleasantly surprised to still get that offer, extra 10 GBP to visit than full price of 44 GBP. We got the ticket but planned to come in afternoon and headed for Sherlock Homes house. One of the nostalgic places for Bengalis. I just went to souvenir shop, did not want to spend GBP 20x3 for the visit. Then from there walked to Lord’s cricket ground, you have to pre-book your slots which I did a month in advance. The tour started from the Museum, then to member’s area (where we see players walking out to field), then home and away dressing rooms. I could sit on the balcony where Sourav did his dare (bare) devil act. Well, we were warned beforehand not to repeat lol. Then we went to main stadium and near the ground and final stop at the Press Box, this is the place from where you can make out the famous Lord’s slope. The steward Bob as an excellent story teller, loved this narrative throughout the expedition. Today we also got the taste of fickle English weather, got caught in rain while coming back from stadium. Somehow, we reached Madame Tussauds. Inside was fairytale world, with life like wax statues – SRK, Amitabh, Ranveer, Kat, Rithik… to name a few Indian celebrities. It was a lovely afternoon spend there. But rain will not leave us, this ruined our plans to go to neighbouring areas like Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, Baker Street etc. We decided to head back to hotel. In th eevening, when rain subsided we went out to see a Durga Puja in London. We went to Camden Durga puja, a pujo with long history. We helped ourselves with some nice bhog prasad. That’s how Day 3 in London ends. Tomorrow, we leaving London and going to Scotland.
Day 4 – we started early as we planned to rent a car and go to Windsor Castle and some other destinations. Checked out of hotel and reached to pick the car from Avis at the Victoria coach station from where we have night bus to Scotland. We reached Windsor castle and had a nice trip there. My wish to drive in London also came true on the day. However, the day was not that good for us, we faced some challenges and had to cut short the plan. At night we took the bus and left England for Scotland. We booked in National Express, where we got offer of 1 child ticket free for 1 adult tickets. Signing off with the England trip here but UK tour continues. Scotland stories in next part. That will be our 3rd country of the tour
