Greetings !!!

I am happy to inform that DTS alumnis Adamsonraj J and Mr Dheleepan GV are attempting a *Guinness World Records (GWR)* Record titled
*'Longest Journey by Scheduled Public Transport in a Single Country'.*

We will be starting our record journey from Puducherry Bus Stand on 07.02.2021 (Sunday) around 06.30 A.M (IST). The Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University would Flag-Off the journey. Other dignitaries and representatives from different organisations will also be present at the flag off ceremony.

We will be travelling by
▪️34 trains
▪️18 buses and
▪️8 flights
covering a distance of about *34,500 kms across 23 States and 4 Union Territories within India in seventy days (10 weeks).*

Our trip will end at Rameswaram on 17.04.2021. We will criss-cross the country six times (thrice in North-South direction and thrice in East-West direction)

Alongside our Record Attempt, we are running an online campaign by name *'Travel for Tourism' ( )* on Facebook and Instagram aimed at reviving tourism post COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Y. Venkata Rao is the Coordinator for this campaign. Dr. Anu Chandran, Editor, Bharatha Patrika Ms. Jayanthi K, Associate Editor, FRONTLINE are the editors of the campaign.

The Record Attempt is officially supported by prominent organizations like :

●Indian Coast Guard
●Pondicherry University
●Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI)
●BRICS Generation
●Prakruthi, etc.

In addition, initiatives of alumni of Department of Tourism Studies, Pondicherry University like
