From Mr. Bharat to Dr. Bharat…
Today marks one of the most meaningful milestones of my life. I successfully defended my PhD and earned the privilege of adding “Dr.” to my name. This is not just a title, but the outcome of years of persistence, discipline, setbacks, and continuous learning.

I completed a Joint PhD in Chemical Engineering from IIT Guwahati and Curtin University. This journey gave me the opportunity to conduct research at one of India’s premier institutions as well as a globally respected international university. The experience has shaped not only my academic understanding but also my perspective toward research and life.

Beyond academics, this achievement carries deep emotional value. The greatest inspiration behind this journey has been my late maternal grandfather. He is no longer with us, but I know he would have been proud today. If he were here, this moment would have meant even more.

I am deeply grateful to my maternal grandmother, my parents, my teachers, and my PhD supervisors. Their guidance, belief, and constant support have been the foundation of everything I have achieved.

Growing up, I was surrounded by inspiring paths, joining the defense services like my maternal grandfather, becoming a doctor like my mossi, or becoming a scientist, which always intrigued me. While not every path was taken, the curiosity for science stayed with me, and today it has led me here.

Coming from Kalpa in Kinnaur, a Himalayan region, and reaching institutions and opportunities across India and abroad has been a humbling journey. It has taught me a simple truth: consistent effort, no matter how slow, always leads you forward.

This achievement belongs to everyone who believed in me.
