Khirku A quiet haven away from the bustle of life atop a mountain... to get away and be free of all your wo Natural spring is the source of water for the village.

Beautifully located, Khirku is a small village on a mountain top near Narvana, Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. Being the last village on the mountain, it has forest area behind. With 16 houses, it has about 75 inhabitants. Most are part of the same Gaddi tribe.. a shepherd tribe whose ancestors would rear sheep and goats. They were semi-nomadic till 4 generations ago, when two brothers decided to

make this their home. The current residents are branched from the same enterprising brothers, but having lost their inherent trade, they are struggling to find a new way of living as settled villagers in a remote place.
