Another successful 15-day birding expedition across Northeast India has come to an end today, recording an impressive total of over 470 bird species.

The journey covered some of the most iconic birding destinations in the region, including Nameri NP, Dirang, Mandala Road, Sela Pass, Kaziranga NP, and the Mishmi Hills. Each location offered its own unique diversity and challenges, making the overall experience both rewarding and memorable.

The trip, however, was not without its difficulties. Continuous and unseasonal rainfall throughout the expedition made conditions particularly challenging, requiring persistence and adaptability in order to locate and observe our target species. Despite these hurdles, we successfully managed to achieve most of our key targets.

Below, I am sharing a selection of photographs captured during the trip, along with the complete eBird trip report for the full checklist of species recorded:

Recently we have finished another successful 6-day birding trip with an impressive total of 276 species recorded.

This trip was specifically planned to search for both species of Trogon found in Northeast India, and I’m happy to say we achieved this goal within the first three days. With our main targets secured early, we decided to extend the journey to Kaziranga National Park, where my client was able to enjoy a special mammal lifer — the magnificent Indian One-horned Rhinoceros. Along the way, we also added many more exciting bird species to the trip list.

Below I’m sharing a few screenshots taken during the trip, along with the eBird trip report for the complete list of species we recorded.

Another successful birding expedition concluded yesterday across the pristine hills of Jessami, Manipur and Khonoma, Nagaland.

We were delighted to successfully cover all our major target species, making the journey both productive and memorable. The forests and highland trails once again proved why Northeast India remains one of the finest birding destinations in the Indian subcontinent.

Below, I’m sharing a few screenshots of the key species captured during the trip, along with the complete eBird trip report for the full checklist of birds recorded:
