A Day in the Wild I’ll Never Forget!
Some sightings are great, but yesterday was legendary!
We were headed towards the Pandhapauni Lake as there was no movement on the Moharli side and were hoping to see Choti Tara and her cubs however while we were on our way, we saw a massive male tiger, Mowgli! He went of in a jiffy and we started to move again. We reached Pandharpauni and saw two of Choti Tara’s cubs attempting a wild boar chase—pure jungle drama! It went on for a while and almost all jeeps were now waiting there. While we were waiting, I got an intuition. I wanted to leave.
We could’ve stayed, knowing their mother was close, but instinct told me to leave and head 50 km back to the Moharli side. A wild gamble.
As we cruised toward Telia, swapping stories, sharing experiences etc, I spotted movement far ahead… a bead emerged from the slowly road and I blurted out the magic words: “Tiger! Tiger!”
It was Collarwali, walking head-on, straight toward us. No other vehicles. No noise. Just her and us. For 22 glorious minutes, she walked with us, posed, and owned the forest like the queen she is.
The jungle gave us everything yesterday—patience, thrill, magic a sighting of a life time!
