Back in 2018, when floodwaters swallowed homes and hope, it wasn’t the Navy or Air Force who arrived first—it was Kerala’s fishermen. With nothing but heart and humble boats, they rescued thousands. We called them Coastal Warriors. Deservedly so.
Now, as the MSC ELSA 3 sinks off Kochi, leaking oil and hazardous cargo into already fragile waters, the tides are turning dangerous again. Global currents are pushing debris towards our shores. The monsoon winds are gathering. The Arabian Sea is restless.
And once again, our fishermen are not just watching—they're warning, guiding, and helping.
They are not just part of the coast. They are the coast.
Let’s not wait for another disaster to honour them. Let’s stand by them now.
