Perched _10,240 ft_ high on a sheer cliff, *Paro Taktsang* or *“Tiger’s Nest”* 🐅 is Bhutan’s most sacred monastery, built in _1692_ around the cave where Guru Rinpoche meditated after arriving on a flying tigress.
Accessible only by a steep 2-3 hour trek through pine forests, it was rebuilt after a 1998 fire and still clings dramatically 3,000 ft above the Paro Valley floor 🏔️.
