Day wise tour itinerary for 8 days Christian tour package in Kerala
Day 01 : Arrival
On your arrival at Cochin airport our representative/chauffeur will welcome you at the arrival terminal/gate. Then you will be transferred to the hotel booked for you in Thrissur . Evening leisure at hotel and night stay over there.
Day 02 : Thrissur - Malayattoor
Morning after a healthy breakfast check-out the hotel and proceed to visit Lourdes Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Kerala. It is located in the heart of Thrissur town and the main attraction of this Church is an underground Shrine, which is a masterpiece of architectural designing. After that visit Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours, also known as ‘Puthan pally’ (new Church) built in Indo-Gothic style. The main attraction is the 260 feet high Bible Tower at the rear of Church which is the tallest Church Tower in Asia.
After the lunch we drive you to Malayattoor village in Ernakulam city. Visit St.Thomas Church, the International Shrine located at Kurisumudi, a verdant hill in the Western Ghats girdled partially by the Periyar river. People visit this pilgrim centre all through the year but they come in large groups during Lenten Season. The Church has a life - size statue of St.Thomas and the imprint of the feet of the Apostle on a rock. You can also see the Elephant Kraal (training centre) in Kodanad located on the opposite banks of the Periyar river. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kochi.
Day 03 : Vallarpadam - Fort Kochi - Mattanchery
After having your breakfast we drive you to the very famous National Shrine of Our Lady of Vallarpadam. St.Mary of Vallarpadam is believed to have miraculously saved many lives from shipwreck and violent storms. Then proceed to visit Portuguese Churches in Fort Kochi and Mattanchery. After lunch visit the major tourists attractions which includes St.Francis Church, Vasco House, Santa Cruz Basilica, Chinese fishing nets, beach walkway in Fort Kochi and Jewish Synagouge, Palace and Jew town of Mattanchery. Evening visit to Marine Drive, a popular hangout place which is built facing the back water. You can enjoy the sunset cruise in a boat(optional). Come back to the hotel and overnight stay over there.
Day 04 : Kurisumala - Vagamon
Morning check-out the hotel after your breakfast and then straight drive to Kurisumala Hills. On your arrival check-in to your resort in Vagamon (only 5 kms from Kurisumala hills). On the way visit the famous natural scenic place of Elaveezha Poonchira, nestling in the lap of three hillocks - Mankunnu, Kudayathoormala and Thonipara. After refreshment in the resort visit Kurisumala Hills, also known as the ‘Mountain of the Holy Cross’ which is an important pilgrimage centre for Christians. The Kurisumala Hill is enveloped with verdant green tea gardens and thick forests on each side that make the hill more attractive. Evening go for sightseeing in Vagamon including Meadows and Pine Forest. Dinner and overnight stay in the resort.
Day 05 : Bharananganam - Mannanam
Check-out the hotel after your breakfast and proceed to St.Alphonsa Pilgrim centre in Bharananganam. See the historic Tomb of St.Alphonsa and attend Holy Mass at St.Mary’s Florance Church, adjacent to the Tomb. You can visit ‘Alphonsa Bhavan’ , the house where St.Alphonsa was born. After the lunch proceed to visit the Tomb of Blessed Chavara in Mannanam. After the visit proceed to your hotel in Kottayam for the overnight stay.
Day 06 : Niranam Church
After having a healthy breakfast check-out the hotel and proceed to the oldest Church in Kerala, the Niranam Church. It is an ancient Church of the Malankara Orthodox which was founded by St.Thomas in A.D 54. After having your lunch proceed to Mararikulam in Alleppey. Check-in to your hotel. Enjoy the evening in Mararikulam Beach, the cleanest sandy beach of Kerala and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 07 : Arthunkal
Morning after breakfast, check-out the hotel and proceed to Arthunkal, a small village located about 22 km away from the town of Alleppey. It is one of the most important pilgrimage centres for hundreds and thousands of and Christians. After the visit return back to Kochi. You can spend time for shopping in the city. Overnight stay in your hotel in Kochi.
Day 08 : Departure
Enjoy a healthy breakfast and check-out from the hostel. We drive you back to the airport to catch your flight. The tour ends with happy memories.
