71-ാമത് നെഹ്‌റു ട്രോഫി വള്ളംകളി 2025 ആഗസ്ത്‌ 30-ന് പുന്നമടക്കായലിൽ നടത്താൻ എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റിയും ജനറൽ ബോഡി യോഗവും തീരുമാനിച്ചു. നെഹ്‌റു ട്രോഫി വള്ളംകളിയുടെ തീയതി സംബന്ധിച്ച് എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റി എടുത്ത തീരുമാനത്തിന് സർക്കാർ അംഗീകാരം നൽകിയതായി എൻടിബിആർ സൊസൈറ്റി ചെയർമാൻ കൂടിയായ ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ അലക്സ് വർഗീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. പി പി ചിത്തരജ്ഞൻ എംഎൽഎയും തോമസ് കെ തോമസ് എംഎൽഎയും യോഗത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. കളക്ടറേറ്റ് കോൺഫറൻസ് ഹാളിലായിരുന്നു യോഗം.-70ാമത് നെഹ്‌റു ട്രോഫി വള്ളംകളിയുടെ കണക്കുകളും ഓഡിറ്റ് റിപ്പോർട്ടും യോഗത്തിൽ സബ് കളക്ടർ സമീർ കിഷൻ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. 2,51,18,725.20 രൂപ വരവും 2,85,39,328.14 രൂപ ചെലവും വരുന്ന വരവ് ചെലവ് കണക്ക് എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗീകരിച്ചു. ഓഡിറ്റിന് ശേഷമുള്ള കണക്കാണ് യോഗം അംഗീകരിച്ചത്. 34,20,603 രൂപ അധികമായി ചെലവഴിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. ചൂരൽ മല ദുരന്തത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ അവസാന നിമിഷം വള്ളം കളി മാറ്റിവയ്ക്കേണ്ടിവന്നത് അധികചെലവിനിടയാക്കിയതായി ചെയർമാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. മെയിന്റനൻസ് ഗ്രാന്റും പ്രൈസ് മണിയും 2023 ലെ സിബിഎല്ലിൽ നിന്ന് രണ്ട് വള്ളങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകാനുള്ള ബോണസും കൂടി നൽകണമെന്നും ഇത് കണക്കിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തണമെന്നുമുള്ള യോഗത്തിലെ നിർദേശം അംഗീകരിച്ചു. പങ്കെടുത്ത വള്ളങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള ബോണസ് പൂർണമായും നൽകി. ബോണസ് നൽകുന്നതിനായി 13,330,000 രൂപയും ഇൻഫ്രാസ്ട്രക്ചർ കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ 71,77,842 രൂപയും ചെലവിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

സ്റ്റാർട്ടിങ്, ഫിനിഷിങ് സംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം കുറ്റമറ്റതാക്കി അപാകതകൾ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള നിർദേശങ്ങളും എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് യോഗത്തിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സാങ്കേതിക വിദഗ്ധർ ഡെമോ യോഗത്തിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. അർജുന അവാർഡ് ജേതാവ് ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ സജി തോമസ് സായി പ്രതിനിധിയായി ഫിനിഷിങ് കുറ്റമറ്റതാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള നിർദേശങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. യുവ ശാസ്ത്രഞ്ജൻ ഋഷികേഷ് മെക്കാനിക്കൽ സ്റ്റാർട്ടിങ് സംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം വിശദീകരിച്ചു. മയൂരം ക്രൂയിസ് അധികൃതർ സ്റ്റാർട്ടിങ്, ഫിനിഷിങ് സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ കുറ്റമറ്റതാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഇലക്ട്രോമാഗ്നറ്റിക് സംവിധാനവും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. മത്സരത്തിന്റെ നിബന്ധനകൾ പരിഷ്കരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യവും എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് കമ്മറ്റി പരിഗണിച്ചു. വിജയിയെ നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നതിന് ഫിനിഷിങ്ങിന് പോൾ കടക്കണമെന്ന നിബന്ധന മാറ്റി പോളിൽ ടച്ച് ചെയ്താൽ മതിയെന്ന നിർദ്ദേശം യോഗത്തിൽ ഉയർന്നു. കൂടാതെ എല്ലാവർക്കും ഒരേ തരത്തിലുള്ള തുഴ എന്ന നിർദ്ദേശവും പരിഗണിച്ചു.യോഗം പരിഗണിച്ച നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ പരിശോധിന് റിപ്പോർട്ട് സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് പ്രത്യേക കമ്മിറ്റിക്ക് രൂപം നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവർ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്ന റിപ്പോർട്ട് പരിഗണിച്ച് തുടർനടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കും. യോഗത്തിൽ ജില്ലാ പൊലീസ് മേധാവി എം പി മോഹനചന്ദ്രൻ, നഗരസഭാ ചെയർപേഴ്‌സൺ കെ കെ ജയമ്മ, എഡിഎം ആശ സി എബ്രഹാം, മുൻ എംഎൽഎമാരായ സി കെ സദാശിവൻ, കെ കെ ഷാജു, ആർ കെ കുറുപ്പ്, ഇറിഗേഷൻ എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് എഞ്ചിനീയർ ബിനു ബേബി, എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗങ്ങൾ, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തുടങ്ങിയവർ പങ്കെടുത്തു.

Arthunkal Church – A Historic Basilica of Faith and Harmony in Alappuzha

Arthunkal Church, located near Cherthala in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, is one of the most prominent Christian pilgrimage destinations in South India. Built by Portuguese missionaries in the 16th century, this church is dedicated to St. Sebastian and is widely revered by people of all faiths.

In recognition of its deep-rooted spiritual legacy, Arthunkal Church was declared the 7th Basilica in Kerala in 2010. The church is most famous for the Makaram Thirunal, a grand annual feast of St. Sebastian, which draws lakhs of devotees every year, creating an atmosphere of devotion, unity, and celebration.

The church's historical and cultural importance is further enriched by the presence of Fr. Jacomo Fenicio, affectionately known as Arthunkal Veluthachan, an Italian priest who served the parish and is remembered with great reverence. Local folklore suggests that Veluthachan and Lord Ayyappa trained in martial arts at the same kalari (training ground), a unique tale of religious harmony.

An age-old ritual called "Malaurakkal", practiced by Sabarimala pilgrims, is still observed at this church even today, signifying the deep spiritual bond between Christian and Hindu devotees.

The statue of St. Sebastian, which stands at the heart of the church, was brought from Milan in the 17th century and continues to be an object of great veneration.

Just 22 km from Alappuzha town, Arthunkal Basilica is not just a religious landmark, but a symbol of Kerala’s inclusive culture, historic architecture, and unwavering faith.

The grand flower show, conducted by the district agri-horticulture society, began on Friday at the Ernakulathappan Ground. The visitors can see more than fifty thousand flowering plants at the mega flower show that lasts until 12th January. More than two thousand rose varieties, one thousand pots of orchids, grafted adenium, pertunia, dahlia, gerbera, salvia, princess settia which is the latest variety of the poinsettia and chrysanthemums are some of the varieties that would be the major attractions at the show.
Besides, there would be bonsai plants, rare ayurvedic herbs and unique star plants too. A special pavilion, which has an area of more than 5000 sqft, has been arranged for the flower show. Interesting installations designed using flowers and plants too would be extremely attractive.
