Attention: Avoid traveling to Munnar
Munnar has been experiencing heavy rains last few days. Old Munnar area and KSRTC Bust station are affected with floods. Roads leading to Munnar has been damaged due to the massive downpours. A bridge near Periyavarai was washed off due to the floods hence the Munnar-Udumalpet road is closed until further notice. There were massive landslides in the Gaproad area due to which the Munnar-Pooppara road is closed.

The Idukki district administration and local authorities has declared red alert and advised people to refrain from traveling to the flood affected areas. In case if you need help please get in touch with the Idukki district administration on the emergency operations number 1077.

Munnar is witnessing heavy rainfall for past few days and most part of the Munnar town has been flooded. Mattupetty dam near Munnar has been opened due to heavy rainfall in the area. Govt of Kerala has requested tourists to avoid traveling to tourist destinations in Kerala in view of the floods. In case of emergency please try to contact:
