🌴 Kerala Welcomes Record 2.58 Crore Tourists in 2025
The picturesque state of Kerala has achieved a new tourism milestone in 2025, recording its highest-ever visitor footfall with an impressive 2.58 crore tourists from across India and around the world. Known for its serene backwaters, golden beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, Ayurveda retreats, and misty hill stations, Kerala continues to shine as one of India’s most sought-after travel destinations.
📈 12.5% Growth Over 2024
Compared to 2024’s 2.29 crore visitors, the state registered a remarkable growth of over 12.5%, reflecting Kerala’s growing popularity among travel enthusiasts.
Domestic Tourism at an All-Time High
In 2025, Kerala welcomed 2,50,58,366 domestic tourists, a 12.6% rise from the previous year. Major contributing states included Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
🌍 Foreign Tourist Arrivals Also Rise
Despite global geopolitical challenges, Kerala saw an 11.3% increase in international visitors, with 8,21,999 foreign tourists arriving from key markets like the UK, US, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the Maldives.
Top Performing Districts (Domestic Visitors)
- Idukki – 46,79,800
- Ernakulam – 44,29,899
- Thiruvananthapuram – 43,75,846
- Thrissur – 31,24,696
- Wayanad – 14,73,710
- Kozhikode – 14,69,253
For international arrivals, Ernakulam led the chart, followed by Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Alappuzha, and Kottayam.
