Kohima Camp, Nagaland

Kohima Camp, Nagaland Embark on a tribal journey to Nagaland, the land of the head-hunters, with The Ultimate Travelling Camp!

07/06/2021

Words, even the very best of words cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we all are feeling today. Mr. Ravi Thakur, General Manager – Operations for The Ultimate Travelling Camp, one of the mainstays of our small family has left us for heavenly abode on 05th June 2021.

The loss is there, tangible and real within everyone but Ravi exemplified life, love, laughter and an irrepressible belief and faith in seeing the best in everything… even loss.

And so today, we do not only honour him by profoundly feeling and expressing our loss, but also by remembering an amazing person who has played a unique and special role for all of us at The Ultimate Travelling Camp. Ravi, we will remember you with all your special nuances and our memories from all the days gone before, that we were privileged to share with you. And in all the tomorrow… we will feel you gone in some ways, but your presence ever near.

Go well …….. Stay Well …….. Always
Team TUTC

A guest blogger shares his experience at Kohima Camp, Nagaland stating: "Behold the campsite like a brave new world of khaki tents blending into the hillside. Complete with apéritifs, valets, eggs to order and hot-water-bottles in slumberous beds! The once-a-year Hornbill Festival is on and The Ultimate Travelling Camp is the swishest locale!"

One often doesn't associate the wilderness with luxury yet, new trends in tourism mean that one can have the best of both. The Ultimate Travelling Camp in Kohima, set up near the annual Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, offers the best of both - luxury and the wilderness!

Every December, Nagaland hosts people from far and wide at the Hornbill Festival. A curated event, the Hornbill Festival has become the poster child for the state’s rich diversity of dances, music, martial arts, sports, handicrafts, religious ceremonies and cuisine. With performers from all corners of Nagaland, as also from other north-east Indian states – the festival offers a glimpse into the cultural heritage of a once-forgotten people.

The Ultimate Travelling Camp sets up a one-of-its-kind luxury tented accommodation a short distance away from the Hornbill Festival. After a day of cultural revelry, you can head back to your glamping site for a languid bath and a gourmet-style meal around a bonfire.
