It is really difficult to write this today.
Someone who trekked with us to Goechala last year is no longer with us.
Dibyojyoti left us after a tragic road accident at Shantipur Bypass. There are some moments in life when we simply have no words ,no explanation, no answer, nothing that can make the loss feel any smaller.
We remember you playing cricket in Dzongri.
We remember having rajma chawal together at Thangsing.
We remember walking through the darkness of the valley at midnight, somewhere on the way to Goechala.
We remember the laughter, the conversations, the friendship and the person you were beyond the trail.
This October, when our Goechala batch walks through those same mountains, we will carry your memory with us.We will dedicate this journey to you to your name, to our friendship, and to the beautiful memories you left behind.
Debajyoti, you were an amazing soul.
You may not be walking beside us anymore, but a part of you will always remain in those mountains in Dzongri, at Thangsing, on the trail to Goechala, and in the hearts of everyone who walked with you.
See you somewhere else, someday.
