Dear all,
We would like to share an update regarding our group travelling for the Manas Kailash Parikrama.
On 26th August at around 7:47 AM, our group, comprising 30 guests, 2 tour leaders, and 5 local Sherpas, completed immigration formalities at the Nepal border at Upper Timure and proceeded towards the China Immigration Office.
Unfortunately, the group became stranded there, coinciding with the unfortunate incident that occurred in the area. Since then, we have been unable to establish contact with any of the group members.
At around 2:00 PM, a helicopter arranged by our local agency was sent to conduct a search operation. However, due to the difficult terrain and the lack of a suitable landing area, it was unable to land at the location.
Since the incident, we have been continuously coordinating with the local authorities, the Government of Nepal, the Government of India, the Government of West Bengal, and Shakespeare Sarani Police Station to seek assistance and establish contact with our group.
We have also sent representatives from Chalo Jaai Travel Club, who have reached Kathmandu and are working with the concerned authorities and local agencies on the ground.
We have received numerous calls from the families, relatives, and members of the media. We fully understand their concern, anxiety, and anguish during this extremely difficult time. We are doing everything possible from our end to obtain information and ensure the safety of our guests and team members.
At this moment, we remain hopeful and deeply prayerful that we will receive positive news soon.
We sincerely request everyone to pray for the safety and well-being of our group members, our Sherpas, our tour leaders, and everyone affected by this unfortunate situation.
We are only hoping for a miracle and holding on to hope.
