178-years-old British tour operator 'Thomas Cook' has collapsed. The world's oldest travel company went down leaving six lakh holidaymakers stranded across the globe.

Relief is that 'Thomas Cook India' has not been impacted because it's a separate entity since 2012, owned by a Canadian investment company.

Hello guys!
This video is on my recent tour to Santiniketan with my family and a friend. It was a 1 night - 2 days trip. We set off around 7 am from Dunlop (Kolkata), took the route via Durgapur Expressway, Guskara and Bhedia. It took approximately 4 hours and we reached Santiniketan by 11 am.
Day 1 (Friday): Visited Konkalitala kali temple, Amar Kuthir, Kopai river and Surul Palace.
Day 2 (Saturday): Covered the Visva-Bharati campus, Sonajhuri forest and Sonibarer haat.
We set off from Santiniketan by 1 pm on day 2 to reach Kolkata (Dunlop) by 5.30 pm.

If you are visiting Dooars, the most important thing would be selecting the right property at a right location. Most of the places are so commercialised that these places have lost all its charm. Go for properties which are few kms away from the chaos. Search for facilities which provide you serenity and tranquility. One such beautiful place is this, located by the Murti River.

If you are planning to visit somewhere in the weekend, Santiniketan would be good option. For Bongs, this can be even more special. 2 nights - 3 days trip would be good plan.

The first village on way to Silk Route in Sikkim after crossing Rongli from where you get your inner line permit. If you have adequate number of days, one night stay at this village should be great experience. There are only 4-5 properties (home stays). Suggest you to book in advance.
