Allow me to introduce Netrani’s radiant sea urchin

This is Astropyga radiata
It's a sea urchin with insanely bright warning colours and iridescent blue spots.

It’s a nocturnal algae grazer, scraping seaweed off sand and rubble and helping stop it from overgrowing nearby corals, so urchins like this quietly support reef recovery.

Nerd fact: Astropyga comes from Greek for star and buttocks, named because of the star‑shaped pattern around the urchin’s butt !!
