TOUR PLAN
Day 01:- Srinagar – kargil via sonmarg and Zojilla pass 3527 mts (205 km ) it will take (6-7hrs): Early in the morning after breakfast drive towards Kargil . After crossing the city is another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir in Sindh valley.The Sindh valley is largest tributary of the valley of Kashmir. After sonmarg most rough road and wet Zojilla pass (Gate way of Ladakh) This road continue to drive Drass (The Second coldest inhibited village in world ) after more two and half hours drive to Kargil at the altitude of (2715 mts) overnight in Hotel.
Day 02:- Kargil to Leh (235 kms)(6-7 hours) via Namki la pass and Photu La: After breakfast, leave for Leh. On the way halt at Lamayuru Monastery which is one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh and then to pass through Mulbekh which has the famous Lord Buddha Sculpture. Transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day free to get acclimatized to the high altitude. Overnight in Leh.
Day 03:- Explore Indus valley: Visit some ancient monasteries ,Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. This Monastery is more than 500 year old. Hemis Monastery, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by Mountain and fronted by long Mani walls. Sindhu ghard Darshan to Holy Indus River.Amir Khan School Or 3 –Idiot shoot school. Leh Palace: Is build by King Sengge Namgail of Namgail Dynasty in 17th century. The Palace is nine story high, and it overlook the leh main Market, Stok Kangri. The upper story was earlier used by the royal family .Now the palace is open for tourist the collection of jewelers, ornaments, Thangkas, ceremonial dresses, crowns, and centuries-old pieces of jewelers are kept here for public display. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 04:- Leh to Nubra valley: After breakfast drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Upon arrival in Nubra we check in at our Camp / Hotel in Hunder, have a rest till evening ,before sun set we will take you for a short drive to Hunder sand dunes to visit & ride double hu**ed bacterium camel, later back to accommodation for overnight stay If time permits we will walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. A visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged. Overnight Stay at the Camp or Hotel.
Day 05:- Nubra to Leh: Morning after breakfast we will visit the most picturesque Disket monastery on the hill top. Later continue drive to other side of Nubra valley – was the main part of silk route.we will continue our drive back to Leh via Khardongla. Reach Leh & transfer to Hotel overnight stay.
Day 06:- Leh – Pangong, via Chang la (pass)(5320mts) (5-6hrs), After breakfast, drive (154km/ 6 hrs) to the spectacular Changthang Valley, winding your way over the exhilarating Chang la (5320m.)-The second highest point of our journey. The landscape on the way to Pangong is just spectacular. Over night in fixed camp or guesthouse.
Day07:- Pangong Explore and drive back to Leh: The Lake is situated at 13,930 ft./ about 4300mts. above sea level and is 125 km long, but is only four km at its widest, and extends almost in a straight line, way to Tibet; in fact, only a quarter of the lake is in India. En route you will see some Himalayan marmots & migrated birds. Later retrace to Leh for overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 08:-Drop at Leh Airport to Departure for onward destination with sweet memories of Kashmir,Kargil & Karokoram.
