E-visa facility for 43 countries at nine Indian airports from today

Great News!
The new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system has finally been launched for 43 countries including Germany, USA, UAE, Norway, Finland, Ukraine, Russia, New Zealand and Australia. Others due to follow next year. The system is now operational at Kochi airport (and Trivandrum) in Kerala. Just apply here https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html, upload a scan of your photo and passport page and pay a fee online. In 72 hours, you will receive an ETA by e-mail!
The 30-day permit allows sightseeing, visiting friends and family, recreation, short duration medical treatment, and a casual business visit.
Eligibility
International Travellers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation , sight seeing , casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit.
Passport should have at least six months validity.
International Travellers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket,with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
International Travellers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin may please apply for regular Visa at Indian Mission.
Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders.

"Spotted the Tigress Collarwali; the Queen of Pench Tiger Reserve today during my afternoon safari. In 2011 she gave birth to 5 cubs (4 of which were females) which is a record of sorts and they all survived. Right now she has 3 cubs which are all 6 months old. Collarwali was out on a kill when we spotted her today. Post the Supreme Court of India's intervention, only 25 vehicles are now allowed in the morning and 20 in the afternoon through the Turia Gate of the Pench Tiger Reserve. This at a time when Pench has 30 big and small hotels. Like Kanha, the hotels with bigger inventory more often than not with no respect for wildlife and were just there to make monies are struggling to survive in Pench," says Kuntil Baruwa from our Destination Knowledge Centre who is in Pench right now.
