The Eco-Watch team has been in Kumta for almost a month organizing for the Aghanashini River Festival, we salute the people of Kumta, Aghanashini, Bada, Kagal, Gudkagal, Holanagadde, Heeni, Masoor and other villages for their trust in us and the for the support they are extending, without them we would not have dared think about this festival. Just a week to go and we still have a lot to achieve, but with such amazing people around us, nothing seems too difficult.

"Along the river bank live the fishermen and other communities for whom the Aghnashini is a lifeline and a divine body. At anytime of the day you can see the boats, either romantically idling on the river or some crossing the estuaries and venturing into the sea, with their sails fluttering aloft the mast. Those who want to see the beautiful parts of the world must not miss Aghnashini River Festival" - Suresh Heblikar
