Public Safety Cannot Be Seasonal – We Need Year-Round Protection in Tourist Areas!
The recent tragic attack in Pahalgam has left many of us shaken and heartbroken. Over 1 lakh tourists visit this beautiful valley, yet there was no permanent Army or paramilitary presence in the area. The closest forces were over 10 km away. How can this be acceptable?
Why is it that politicians are surrounded by Z+ security, but the common people, who travel with families and children, are left completely vulnerable? This is not just about one incident—this reflects a serious systemic failure in public safety.
Tourists contribute to local livelihoods and the economy. They deserve protection—not just during the Amarnath Yatra or special occasions, but every single day.
We demand:
Permanent security presence in high-footfall tourist areas like Baisaran Valley.
Accountability for lapses in safety protocols.
Respect for every citizen’s life, not just VIPs.
India is known for its hospitality—let us also be known for our protection of life. 🇮🇳
