We strongly support the demand by citizens of Ladakh, that the Government of India include Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, so that the land, culture, environment and the economic interests of the people can be safeguarded for current and future generations. We also express serious concern about the way in which voices of Ladakhis, such as that of the well-known educationist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk, are sought to be suppressed through completely illegitimate gag orders.
