Matho Nagrang Festival is one of Ladakh’s most unique spiritual traditions, held at Matho Monastery, the only monastery in the region following the Sakya lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Celebrated on 02–03 March, this annual festival is renowned for the appearance of the Rongtsans, sacred oracles who manifest through ordained monks after months of meditation in isolation. Over two days, they perform extraordinary rituals and acts believed to offer insight, guidance and prophecy.

A rare cultural and spiritual experience, Matho Nagrang draws locals, travellers and researchers from across the Himalayan region and beyond.

Stay at Matho Eco Homestay, a boutique stay near the monastery and experience the festival closely through local hospitality. Guests can also engage in traditional thangka painting and Goncha making experiences with the host, offering deeper insight into local culture and craftsmanship.

Lofan Tso is a sacred lake hidden in Nubra Valley, beyond the village of Sumur. A quiet 30–45 minute walk leads you to this untouched space of silence and stillness.

For locals, it is not a tourist spot but a spiritual presence, protected by the guardian spirit Kushwar. The area also holds ancient history, with petroglyphs and pottery remains dating back to around 2500 BC.

Lofan Tso is about walking slowly, respecting the land and feeling the calm that this place offers.

Our Story

We offer unique travelling experiences at rural and remote parts of Himalayas. We have set up homestays at beautiful and exotic locations. The villages were first electrified by us for our mission of providing energy access to all. The homestays are the second phase of the development for the communities.

When a tourist visits the homestays or joins us for a thematic experience. He/she not only contributes to the homestay owner but also to the village committee. A part of the income generated goes to the development of the village. Another part goes to the village coordinator in terms of salary or commission.
