Meeting with Hon’ble Finance Minister of India

Today, President, Mr. Tashi Yontan, had the opportunity to meet with the Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, to discuss matters concerning the welfare of our union members.

During the meeting, Mr. Yontan formally requested that the bank loans to be provided to the members of our bike union under the Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) category. This classification would enable our members to benefit from low-interest, government-subsidized loan schemes offered by financial institutions.

The Finance Minister acknowledged the concerns raised and responded positively. She requested that a comprehensive list of all union members be submitted to her department for further consideration and necessary action.

We are hopeful that this initiative will lead to meaningful support for our members and strengthen their financial wellbeing’s as other major stakeholders holders demand was to lower the interest of existing bank loan, our demand also the same but stressed more on getting new loan on subsidies rates.

🚨 **Safety First, Always!** 🏍️

On Tuesday, 3rd June 2025, Ladakh Bike-Rental Cooperation Limited (LBCL) in collaboration with UTDRF Ladakh Police successfully conducted a power-packed CPR, First Aid, Road Safety, Fire Emergency & Riding Etiquette training at CEAT Enduro Park, Leh 🏔️

With participation from around 60+ companies, this one-day session was all about saving lives, riding responsibly, and building a stronger, safer biking community. 💪🩺🔥

The whole LBCL Family would like to specially thank Sh Govind (JKPS), SP UTDRF Ladakh, Sh Baqir(JKPS), DySP UTDRF, Sh Angchuk, Inspector UTDRF Ladakh and all the trainers involved from the UTDRF Department. We also Acknowledge and thank our own Mr.Thinlias Singyethang for leading the Basis Riding etiquettee session.

Welcome to the majestic land of Ladakh! We’re thrilled to have you here and hope you enjoy the stunning landscapes, rich culture, and unforgettable adventures that await you.

As you plan your journey beyond Leh town into Ladakh’s inner regions—such as Zanskar, Sham Valley, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Tso Moriri, Hanley and other remote destinations—we kindly bring to your attention an important travel advisory regarding motorbike usage.

According to the official directive from the Transport Department of UT Ladakh (Ref. No. ComSecy/Trans/UTL/2023, dated 15.09.2023),

rental motorcycles registered outside Ladakh (e.g., from Manali or Himachal Pradesh, even with permits under the ‘Rent a Motor Cycle Scheme, 1997’, Chandigarh, Delhi, J&K etc) are only allowed to travel up to Leh via NH-3. However, they are strictly not permitted to operate on inner routes beyond Leh, as per the regional transport rules and directions from the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh.

This decision helps ensure the safety of travelers in remote terrain, supports local livelihoods, and promotes fair and sustainable tourism practices in the region.

But don’t worry—local bike rental services are readily available in Leh, offering well-maintained vehicles suited for high-altitude travel and supported by experienced local operators. Renting a local bike is not just a necessity, but a meaningful way to contribute to the Ladakhi community.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you for being a responsible and respectful traveler. We wish you a safe, memorable, and adventure-filled ride through the Land of High Passes!

*LBCL FIRST AID & LEADERSHIP TRAINING 2025*

LBCL with the support of Royal Enfield Social Mission is organizing 4 days Basic First Aid and Leadership Training from 25th to 28th April 2025. Each Participant is compulsorily required to attend one day of the First Aid training and one day of Leadership Training on the last day. 90 Participants will be the maximum intake which the Union office will finalized on the basis of first come first serve from the online registration form. A maximum on 2 seats (Owner + 1 marshall) can be availed by each LBCL member company.
The 90 Participants will be divided into 3 groups of 30 each for the 1st 3 days of First Aid training, which they have to attend only one day. Venue of the First Aid Training will be CAMP KHARU at Kharu Village.
For the Last day training, the Teams will be divided into 2 groups of 45 each and the training will be at Hotel Grand Dragon Leh, to be followed by the Closing Certificate Distribution.

*Please Note : The Training is provided Free of Cost but any Registrant failing to attend the Training after registration and confirmation from the Office shall be entitled for 5000INR Penalty fine to be imposed by the LBCL Union Office.*

GENERAL BODY MEETING OF LADAKH BIKERS UNION held on 19th April 2025.
The event officially marks the opening of the Riding season in Ladakh.

The Pre Season GBM of LBCL 2025 was held on 19th January 2025 at Hotel Grand Dragon Ladakh. The Function was divided into 3 segments.
The morning session have various dignitaries from the Local administration, including Shri Mohamad Ashraf Bhat-JKAS, RTO Leh, Shri Sonam Angchuk, Dysp HQ Leh, Shri Rigzin, SHO Leh among others. The dignitaries addressed the gathering of members and also took doubts and questions from the members regarding functioning of the season and assured full support for the same.

The after lunch session had a team of Royal Enfield visiting ladakh who had earlier been in a 2 days long meeting with the executive team of LBCL having being discussed on major issues pertaining RE and LBCL. The RE Team assured more dedication towards the industry in Ladakh and also announced to support the LBCL in Organising of a Bikers Festival in Ladakh in Sept 2025.

The last session had member discussing on many internal agendas of the union, in which the members reinstated their commitment on halting the Permits for the next two years, which the office reinsured in sustaining the decorum of the decision.
