Bara-lacha la also known as Bara-lacha Pass is a high mountain pass in Zanskar range. This pass is located on Manali Leh highway connecting Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh to Leh district in Ladakh.
Best time to visit: Its open from June to October and remain close rest of the year.
Best time to visit: Its open from June to October and remain close for the rest of the year, there is a place called Zing Zing bar, where locals from Darcha set up small tea stall camps with a line of beds with common toilet. Another good option is at Sarchu. Sarchu is 35 km away from Baralacha pass, on Manali- Leh highway toward Leh.
Weather: In summers days are cold but nights are freezing cold. In winters the place is extremely cold due to snowfall.

Kung-Fu That Even Nuns Are Taught
Under the age of 25 usually (not a compulsion), women practice the art of Kung-Fu in the Drukpa nunnery in Ladakh. These self-empowered women encourage many other women to participate in the same and especially encourages nuns to train in Kung-Fu. Not only that but further for those interested are taught at par with monks of the land to seek enlightenment. BBC also went on to make a documentary on their life.
