First summit of Kang Yatse II achieved!! Congratulations to Suraj Yalmoo as a guide and the two very brave and strong climbers. It was a tough day with almost 12 hours to reach the summit at 6200 meters, through soft snow 2 feet deep at places.. Great achievement. And once again we bag the first summit at MERO Expedition and Trekking Equipment Hiring Agency

Kang Yatse II base camp when our team started for their climb. We are proud to say that the team still made it to 6000 meters while everyone else abandoned trying. Sad to say Kang Yatse II still remains unclimbed in the climbing season of 2026. But all is well, weather improving and it will be fun climbing the mighty peak in a few days. Against all odds!! Ladakh has been washed up with untimely rains, flooded rivers, impossible crossings and broken roads. In the midst of this chaos two of our teams summitted Kang Yatse 2, 6200 meter peak. Thanks to the expert guides, support teams and technical equipment provided by and the tenacity of the climbers.
