zangskar Sani Festival 14-15th august.
Sani Monastery is not a very famous gompa or monastery but is mentioned as the oldest one in Ladakh and Zanskar region, built during reign of Kushan king Kanishka, around 2nd century BC, when Budhhism was still developing in Himalayan or Tibetan region.

There is a huge statue of Padmasambhava, in middle of a water body and Kanika (or Kanishka's) chhorten is located in the background of this castle like monastery.

Since we were short of time, spent very little time here and would be surely visiting again, as it is full of history of Budhhism in this area.

Sindhu Darshan Festival, Leh Ladakh Overview

Celebrated along the banks of the river Sindhu in Leh Ladakh region, every year on the full moon day, the Sindhu Darshan Festival symbolises communal harmony and unity in diversity in India. Celebrated over three days, this is a celebration of River Sindhu, the former Indus Valley Civilisation, with the motive of endorsing the river as an icon of communal harmony in India. Initially, a festival to celebrate the water body that birthed life to the Indus Valley civilisation, it has morphed into more than just the celebration of the Indus river and embraces the entirety of Indian diversity and heritage. The Bollywood movie "Dil Se" was shot at the first Sindhu Darshan Festival.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: As I checked on Google . It's showing a road way to this monastry . As much as I can recall, to reach phugtal monastry one had to trek for 2days. Have they really started a road way ?
A: Yes, statements made by Mr. Saurabh is correct. From Anmu you may trek upto Cha for about 6 kilometers and halt at a homestay. Next day you may reach Phugtal and may stay at the guest house around half a kilometer before the Gompha. On the third day you may trek via a different route and halt at Purne. On the fourth day you will reach Anmu again to catch your vehicle. It is advisable to engage the services of a guide and on the way keep some dry fruit and water with you.
