Leh is surrounded by a mosaic of high-altitude deserts, green oases, ancient villages, and dramatic ridgelines. Many trails that once connected remote hamlets or monasteries are now perfect for day hikes — offering stunning views, cultural depth, and zero crowds.
Most hikes are 3–6 hours, start within an hour’s drive of Leh, and do not require permits (except in protected areas like Hemis National Park).
