Union Budget Highlights for the Tourism and Aviation Sector:

1. Over 100 new places to get regional airports in the next 10 years.
2. ⁠UDAN 2.0 to connect 120 new airports. Focus on North East and Bihar.
3. UDAN 2.0 to be a mix of regional airports and helipads.
4. About 4 crore additional passengers to benefit from new air connectivity.
5. ⁠Govt to develop Top 50 tourist sites in partnership with state governments.
6. ⁠Focus to be on building infrastructure on these sites including hotels.
7. ⁠Hotels in these sites to be included in harmonised infrastructure list to ensure easy financing and development support.
7. Mudra loan scheme to be extended to homestays.
8. Visa fee waivers to certain tourist groups. Also expansion of e-visa.
9. Tourism boost planned for areas linked to Lord Buddha.
10. ⁠States to get performance linked incentive to boost Top 50 tourist sites.
