This picture clicked very recently, shows garbage dump in the stretch between Fagu and Theog In Shimla district. Locals said the spot is used as a daily dump yard and the scene mostly remains ugly. Against green hills as background, the garbage dump clearly suggests an ugly future awaiting .

The public still lacks awareness and the administration failed to deliver an efficient waste management and removal facility.

Ignorance of public and tourists are contaminating the hills. The deliberate neglect by the administration is only worsening it.

The efforts are needed at the community level to actually realize the dream of . Sadly, the government neither acting itself nor encouraging the public to keep Shimla clean.

Cloud burst in

A cloud burst in Gajan village, , past night caused significant damage to private and public property. About 5 vehicles were also damaged. The flash flood washed away the road, causing huge inconvenience to locals. The damages are still to be assessed, but initial reports put it between 20-30 lakh for government property only.
