Many people are familiar with and even have visited the Chandertal lake in the Lahaul and Spiti district, but a very few are aware that there is another lake with the same name in Kullu district.
Known as the "Chota Chandertal" this high altitude lake at around 4300m may lack in size but it surely makes up in location. Surrounded with a picturesque backdrop from all sides this lake offers you the stunning view of Mt.Deo Tibba, Norbu peak and some local glaciers around the region. It takes 3 to 4 days approach to the lake starting from Jagatsukh village near Manali and definitely cheers one up once you reach the location.

I dreamed a place where I have come to dwell in these Cold mountains. Where my breath blends with the color of the peaks I gather leaves and thatch a hut among the pines. Dig a pond and lead a trickle from the brook. Long ago I left the world behind, eating ferns I pass the years in peace wondering in mountains kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pore and cell of mine.
