यूं तो भगवान शिव को कई नामों से पुकारा जाता है। लेकिन उनके 15 अवतारों में एक नाम भैरवगढ़ी का आता है। ये मंदिर देवभूमि उत्तराखंड में स्थित है। भैरवगढ़ी लैंसडाउन से लगभग 17 किमी की दूरी पर कीर्तिखाल की पहाड़ी पर मौजूद है। यहां कालनाथ भैरव की पूजा नियमित रूप से की जाती है। कीर्तिखाल पहाड़ी पर स्थित कालनाथ भैरव को सभी चीजें काली पंसद होती है और उन्हीं की पंसद पर कालनाथ भैरव के लिए मंडवे के आटे का प्रसाद बनाया जाता है। मंडवे के आटे से बने इस प्रसाद को रोट कहते हैं। भैरवगढ़ी को गढ़वाल मंडल का रक्षक माना जाता है। भैरव के साधक और पुजारी आज भी भैरवगढ़ी चोटी पर जाकर सिद्धि प्राप्त करते हैं। कहा जाता है कि यहां आकर हर किसी की मुराद पूरी होती है। अगर मुराद पूरी हो जाए, तो यहां श्रद्धालु चांदी का छत्र चढ़ाते हैं।

Studded like a precious gem in the Himalayan necklace of Uttarakhand, the town of Kathgodam is cradled on the banks of Gaula River. This toy town is perched at an average elevation of 554 meters about 1,817 feet above sea level in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand.

The name Kathgodam literally suggests ‘timber depot’ as it is one of the important collection centers for the forest products, obtained from the Kumaon Himalayas.

Robbers Cave, locally known as Gucchu Pani, is a river cave formed in the Himalayas, about 8 kilometres from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This river cave is believed to be an abode of Lord Shiva and is very close to Sahasradhara or 'The Thousandfold Springs' in Uttarakhand. Its speciality is that river water flows out from the middle of the cave.

The cave is a narrow gorge formed between a conglomerate limestone formation. It creates a feeling similar to being in a scene from a mystery movie - surrounded by dark limestone as streams gush in, echoing inside the cave. If not this, it definitely promises a sense of belongingness as Mother Nature slows you down, making you resonate with its mesmerising beauty.

With extraordinary cold water underground springs, the cave cools down during the scorching-hot summer afternoon. It is a perfect picnic spot amidst the natural beauty of Uttarakhand and must be visited at least once.
