Tungnath Temple, Chopta, Uttarakhand, India ❤️

A short but steep hike of 4.5 kms from the stunningly beautiful Chopta Valley in Garhwal Himalayas takes you to Tunganath Shiva temple at an altitude of 12,074 feet. It is known to be the highest Shiva temple in the world.

The trail and the slopes are covered in thick blanket of snow in the winter months and the arrival of spring season turns it into a place dotted with densely stunning rhododendron flowers in shades of red and pink, both on the trees and the walking trail (fallen ones).

While the rhododendrons do not survive beyond 4 weeks, the arrival of summer season followed by the monsoons, turns the slopes into velvety green interspersed with wild mountain flowers in riot of colours.

Amarnath cave. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft), about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town. The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. The cave is surrounded by snowy mountains 🙏🏻
