But when you look past them, you'll notice that butterflies have a non-negotiable part to play in the ecosystem 🌳🐦‍⬛.

Why is everyone suddenly counting butterflies this month? 🦋🔍

It’s not just a trend. As the heavy monsoon eases, wildflowers hit their peak and millions of butterflies emerge at once.

Because they’re sensitive bio-indicators, counting them gives researchers an immediate health check on our entire ecosystem.

Welcome to Episode 1 of our Big Butterfly Month series. All September, we’re hosting guided nature trails, hands-on sessions for kids, and the citywide Butterfly Race census across Mumbai and other localities. Hit follow to stay in the loop.
