The Lakshmi Narasimha statue at Hampi is a brilliant work of architecture. It is a rare statue with a huge size and was crafted with great details. The statue has a height of 6.7 metres. It is one of the finest existing samples of the Vijayanagara style of architecture.

Nandi or monolithic bull is said to be the mount of Lord Shiva and it is symbolic because it faces the Lord Shiva shrine, Virupaksha Temple located opposite end of the street, about a kilometer from it.

In between the monolithic bull and Virupaksha temple, is the Hampi Bazaar which has been there since the Vijayanagara Empire.

Witness the most magical phenomenon of nature... Geminid meteor shower!!!

Dates:- 12th - 13th December & 13th - 14th December

The Geminids are the strongest meteor shower of the year. However in 2021, the peak falls on the night of Monday, December 13th This year, a waxing gibbous moon will hang around most of the night, washing out the fainter meteors. However the moon will start setting around 4 a.m. This leaves a couple hours of darkness before sunrise of good meteor viewing.
