𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 - 𝐌𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐢. Who doesn’t like flowers? Everyone loves them. Mumbai geared up for its 28th flower festival at “𝑽𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝑱𝒆𝒆𝒋𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒊 𝑩𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒁𝒐𝒐” from 31st Jan to 2nd Feb. The flower festival is organised by BMC which presented more than 5000 species of plants under one roof. Though the flowers are native to Indian household they were presented under the theme “𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒚𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒍𝒔” is eye catching. A flow of stream presenting Dolphins and Lotus gave a fresh appearance to the exhibition. The exhibition comprised of 7 sections. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏: 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬. This section showed vibrant flowers embellished by donning them on National Symbols such as Currency, National Emblem, Hockey Stick and ball, Lotus, Dolphins, Tiger, Peacock and National fruit Mango. Roses, Sunflowers, Petunia, Genia, Calendula raised the beauty of the exhibition. Meanwhile, various coloured “𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰”.

Section 2 emphasised on a well planned urban area that considers environmental, social and economical sustainability, removing contamination from the wastewater by constructing wetlands there by introducing oxygen into water, treating the Grey Water from Kitchen Sink, shower, washing machine thereby reducing the fresh water consumption. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟑: 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐬. Section 3 is dominated by Bonsai and Cactus. Bonsai is a Japanese art form that involves growing and shaping trees to the smallest possible form in a container. Banyan tree, Arjuna tree, Peepal tree are the few to witness. Numerous Cactus of many shapes, size and colour was enthralling to watch. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟒: 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐬. Vegetables and plants are prominent plant family members and not to miss. Green peas, bottle gourd, ridged gourd, Brinjal, Okhra, Tomato and Shrubs such as Coriander, Mint, Fenugreek are itemized on the list. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟓: 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬. An exhibition cannot be completed without including Medicinal plants and Herbs. India holds the ancient history study and use of medicinal plants. Aloe Vera , Lemon Grass, Basil attracted the visitors. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟔: 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐬. Crotons are non flowering plants which stand out with colourful leaves equally beautiful as flowers.
