Did you know that the name ‘Hampi’ was derived from the word ‘Pampa’, an Old name of Tungabhadra River?

Hampi is the anglicized version of Kannada Hampe. The place was known Pampa-kshetra which were derived from the word ‘Pampa'. Over the years Pampa became Hampa then Hampe and the name known to all of us today 'Hampi'.

While Sushi is often seen as a Japanese invention, it was actually created in Southeast Asia.

A dish called 'Nare-zushi' , which consisted of rice with fish wrapped around it originated someplace by the Mekong River, which is nowhere near Japan.

After being created there, it became popular in China before it reached Japan and became the popular dish that it is today.

The Sobremesa is a Spanish tradition that involves spending time relaxing after a meal to drink coffee or liquor or to just continue hanging out chatting at the table after eating. The ritual is a consequence of the heavy Spanish lunch, often made up of a first course, second course, and desert.

Getting back to work immediately after consuming three plates of food would be no easy task; the body needs time to digest. Since it’d be a little strange to go ahead and take a siesta right at the table in a restaurant, they've substituted the after-lunch snooze with the Sobremesa..
