My dazzling day out in Trincomalee three days ago, a shore excursion while I was on Cordelia Cruises Empress, India's first cruise liner to travel from Chennai to Hambantota and Trinco in Sri Lanka.

My honest impressions of France, from my many journeys across this simply stunning country....

A recent piece published in Traveldine

Culture, cuisine, wine, natural beauty, art, architecture, design, music, and sheer style, our penchant for everything French seems justified when you realise just how much this country offers. Pages from the personal travel diary of a Francophile… I stood at the bottom of a long flight of stairs....

The filter coffee, masala tea, butter sada dosa and spicy Chettinad dosa at this place were excellent. As were the chutneys and sambars that came with. The parippu payasam was simply superlative. Made with moong daal, coconut milk and jaggery and Southern spices, it has a creamy, nutty and almost peppery taste.

I'm definitely going to go back to this cheery, clean, up-market round-the-clock (well, almost) restaurant with the most polite and efficient service and pristine loos! The amazing was curated by the Food Bloggers Association, India (FBAI) and USApples.

I have never been a proponent of the apple-a-day theory. But a recent apple-centric soirée organised by Saloni and Sameer Malkani of the Food Bloggers Association of India (FBAI) at Theory in Kamala Mills, Mumbai,

Other food-crazy friends had mentioned this place to me a couple of months ago but I only made it to Bandra to explore its wonderful menu last Sunday. The Blue, run by chefs Seefah Ketchaiyo and Karan Bane, is a well-kept secret serving my two favourite cuisines -- Thai and Japanese. If that were not enough to have me salivating, the fact that the chef-owners have worked in five-star kitchens, know their ingredients and ensure high quality food at relatively affordable rates sure is. A month-long road trip that spans 4500 kms and three different countries may sound daunting to some and the journey of a lifetime to others. But whether you hit the highway yourself or not, I'm sure you'd find it intriguing to follow the journey of 10 young people from diverse walks of life who drove down the Asian Highway 1 from Delhi all the way to Bangkok, Thailand. Koalas are special. They deserve not to be turned into pelts as they were at the turn of the century. Nor driven out of a hospitable habitat by human interference or climate change and put at the mercy of predators. And certainly not 'cutified' into real-life cuddle toys as many zoos and even so-called koala welfare centres are won't to do. [ 577 more words ]
