Our current projects include “An Evening of Neil Simon”, staged readings, story times, fairytales and play workshops for children. We are also available for more formal projects such as interactive improve in the style of 80s Prom and/or “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” type games, as well as corporate events and dinner theater. Play Around offers opportunities for actors, singers, producers and directors as well.

Theater peeps - please share with your theater friends and theater company presidents!
I have a new blog that is a mixture of my stuff, local theater and local film in Mass and New England. One of the things I want to start doing is writing about shows at local theaters.
I'd love to come to opening nights, chat with the directors and cast and then write a review which will be shared all over Facebook as well as on my website(s) and email list - and of course I would send the review to you for your FB page and website.

Actors! Here's your chance to get really good for your Zombie Walking Dead audition!:
Gj Olson and Jessica Ellis-Wilson of WatermelonAlligator Theatre Company are looking for some volunteers to help with a "Walking Dead"- themed haunted house this October. Boston Zombie Apocalypse, located in Abington, is looking for volunteers to be a zombie for a night. We can't afford any stipends for this event, but here's the details:
what volunteers will do:
-arrive for call at 5:30 on Saturday 10/15 in Abington at BZA
-arrive in costume (any street clothes that you don't mind getting dirty/stained) - feel free to be creative!
- be prepared to stay until midnight, although we could end as early as 11pm
-have a great time!
what BZA & WatermelonAlligator will do:
-provide makeup artists to "zombify" you
-provide basic training on how to be safe but scary
-feed you pizza at the end of the evening
We need to give BZA a firm commitment on number of zombies, so we're asking everyone to look at their calendars and get back to me, Jessica Ellis-Wilson or Gj Olson BY SEPTEMBER 9th. We really hope you can come play with us for the night!

Play Around welcomes Lisa D. Kelleher to the group! Lisa is our dancing instructor and choreographer!

Lisa D. Kelleher is thrilled to join Play Around Theater Company as choreographer and musical theater dance teacher. As a graduate of Smith College with a degree in Theater/Dance/Choreography, and a veteran of the Boston Ballet and Harvard’s Summer Dance Program, she currently choreographs and performs with several local community theaters as well as teaches dance. She is instituting a Theater/Dance department at NRAS as well as at Play Around Theater Company, where she choreographs and teaches students and performers from the age of 5-75. She just finished Hingham Cabaret, and is currently choreographing and performing for the Walpole Footlighter’s upcoming Drowsy Chaperone. This summer, Lisa will be offering two Musical Theater Camps, one for 7-12 year olds, and the other, a Young People’s Summer Theater for 13-18 year olds. Lisa’s greatest joy is helping a performer who says “but Lisa, I’m NOT a dancer”, and helping that performer to become a confident, happy, and experienced dancer. Lisa is thrilled to be joining Play Around Theater Company, and looks forward to dancing for and with you soon!!!!
