Did you know? Mumbai was originally made up of seven islands that were merged through land reclamation during British rule.

It’s one of the most transformative examples of urban planning in history. The seven separate isles—Colaba, Old Woman's Isle, Bombay, Mazagaon, Parel, Worli, and Mahim—were dramatically combined through massive, centuries-long reclamation projects, primarily completed during British rule to create the continuous landmass of modern Mumbai.
