Maldives puts out official statement after its ministers and officials make many racist and disgusting comments about India, Indians, and PM Modi. But the damage is done. Maldives new Govt. decided to be a puppet of China which is thousands of Kms away forgetting the help and support India has always given the Maldives. Indians are now deciding enmasse to stop contributing to Maldives tourism.

While now China will send many of its tourists to Maldives, it can never get back the Indian tourists who were the largest contributors to its tourism industry. We can be sure of Chinese propaganda to be spread in India that Maldives is not losing anything as millions of Chinese visist Maldives. They will use local politics in India to spread disinformation in the months to come saying India is the loser.
