Matheran is celebrating its 164th Year : Every Mumbaikar must have visited Matheran atleast once in his life time. Synonymous with toy train, monkey, horses, red mud (Red laterite earth) and mountains, this popular get away "forest on the forehead" is located around 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune.

Matheran was discovered by a British officer Hugh Malet in May 1850.

This year the event is celebrated with annual horse racing event, photo exhibition, marathons and events specially for womens. To convey the sentiments and pride in being a Matheran resident, a song '...Amcha Abhiman, Amcha Matheran was released.

It is Asia's only automobile-free hill station and don't miss One Tree Hill Point, Hart Point, Monkey Point, Porcupine Point, Rambagh Point, Lake Charlotte and more.

Vinod Mandole, Lohit karkera and Sanjay Verma posted their trek pics. Dalhousie (7,000 feet above sea level) is a beautiful hill station in Himachal Pradesh. Established in 1854 by the British Empire in India as a summer retreat for its troops and bureaucrats, the town was named after Lord Dalhousie who was the British Viceroy in India at that time. YHAI organises this trek every year to explore the beauty of Himalayan range.

This was my 1st official trip abroad and i am very impressed by this country. Very organised, clean and i had an awesome experience. Any first time visitor will have no problem in reaching their destination, they need not have to depend on anybody to locate anything. Service here is superb ... from the airport to visiting any public place. One time visit to this country is a must ... don't miss it.
